Laser Cavity Detection ( Diagnodent )

Hidden or sub-surface cavities represent one of the biggest challenges for dental patients. Decay often begins below the tooth’s services, hidden deep in the crevices. The human eye, a dental explorer or even X-rays alone cannot detect many forms of these hidden cavities until they have caused extensive damage to the tooth.

Dr. Romano now uses the DIAGNOdent, which is an extremely accurate aid to detect caries (the disease process that causes cavities). It uses a laser to scan teeth for cavities hiding under the tooth’s surface. The DIAGNOdent helps detect cavities at the earliest possible stage so they can be treated before they spread and enlarge, preventing unnecessary loss of vital tooth structure or loss of the tooth itself.

The DIAGNOdent is reliable, accurate and non-invasive. It has been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the American Dental Association.
